Hope You Can Cling To challenge #10

HYCCT1110 - Bosom Buddies

The challenge was to focus on friendship and this dreaded disease that unfortunately strikes way too many! Make a card that incorporates pink and ribbon, with a friendship theme!

The challenge also mentioned the idea that you should have a good friend who is your reminder'er.... someone who makes sure you get your mammogram done, and you remind her, too! Someone who reminds you to do your monthly checks, and vice versa.

This reminded me of our local television station who promotes a "buddy check" on the 25th of the month.  This inspired me to create a card with a calendar with a date circled for your friend as a reminder... a day to remember.

The stamps are from The Stamps of Life {calendar2build} and {flower2doodle}.  Cardstock is from SU, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink.  Ink is from SU, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose.  Sytlized Flowers embossing folder was used for the background.

Hope You Can Cling To challenge #8

HYCCT1108 - Hang in There!

This challenge was to create a card or 3-D project with a hanging image (i.e., ornament, stocking, etc.) or a hanging element (i.e., charm). Pink isn't mandatory, but extra points if you use it!

I, of course, remembered my Stamps of Life {banners4all} stamp set.  I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but went to the SOL gallery, which is where I got my inspiration.

For this card, I used the stamp set mentioned above, SU border punch, SU Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Whisper White cardstock, and SU pink pirouette, regal rose ink.

HYCCT1106 - Looking In On You

The next challenge was to create a window card.  Pink on the window card would be a great touch.  This one is all about "looking in" on our sisters.

I was looking around on Splitcoaststampers for inspiration.  I came across the double embossing card.  While I didn't double emboss, I did use the same nestie to create my window.

Front of card:

I cut the paper same size as the front of the card.  I used Label 13 nestie to cut the window out of the front of the card.

Inside of the card:
Using the paper from the front, I added it to the inside of the card.  I stamped the flowers and vase and also sponged around the white cardstock.  I used SU Photo Corner punch for the inside of the card.

Hope You Can Cling To challenge #2

HYCCT1102 challenge was to get inspiration from a cute, fun silly picture shaped of a woman's torso and cupcakes for the breasts.   This made me think of a card a friend of mine made.  I didn't have the same stamp set, but knew that was my inspiration as well.

I used hawaiian girl's top on Paper Doll Dress Up and cut it out of SU DSP.  I also used the Labels Nestie for the sentiment.  I used a SU Real Red marker for the faux stitching and sentiment.  Paper is SU Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla.  The stamp is from The Stamps of Life {thanks4oneyear}.

Hope You Can Cling To challenge #1

I participated in the Splitcoaststampers 2011 Hope You Can Cling To challenge.  This is a daily card making challenge.  On October 1st, 3 challenges kicked off the event.

HYCCT1101A - Pink Cirtters.  The challenge was to create a card with pink critters.  I had purchased the "moreowls2love" stamp set from The Stamps of Life.  It was perfect for this challenge.

I used the D'vine Swirl embossing folder, moreowls2love for the owls and the sentiment.  The sentiment is stamped on SU Whisper White card stock and punched with the SU Decorative label punch.

HYCCT1101B - Bling the Cling.  For this challenge, we were to create a card with rhinestone bling.  I had created a similar card (without bling) at a SU workshop.   This card is made with SU Easter Blossom stamp set, SU paper - Basic Gray, River Rock, Pink Pirouette.  The sentiment is stamped and punched with the SU Decorative label.

The last challenge of the day was HYCCT1101C - Encircled with Love.  This challenge was to make a circle card.  I used my SCAL and cricut to create the base of the card.  I welded 2 circles together.  For the pink scalloped circle, I used SCAL.  I used The Stamps of Life stampsets.  For the flower, I used {Thanks2You} and the for sentiment, I used {getwell2You}.  Paper used is SU Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.  I sponged pink pirouette ink around the edges of the circle.  I also used a masking technique so the stems would not cross through the sentiment.
Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by to take a look.
